The Article of the day for October 18, 2016 is Freida Pinto . Freida Pinto (born 18 October 1984) is an Indian actress who has appeared mainly in American and British films. Born and raised in Mumbai, she decided to become an actress at a young age. She was educated at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, where she took part in amateur plays. After graduation, she briefly worked as a model and then as a television presenter. Pinto made her cinematic debut with the British drama Slumdog Millionaire (2008), for which she received several nominations at the British Academy Film Awards, the MTV Movie Awards and the Teen Choice Awards. Her biggest commercial success came with the 2011 science fiction film Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The same year, she portrayed the title character in Michael Winterbottom's Trishna. Picture of the day on October 18, 2016: The church of Santa María de África is a Roman Catholic church located in the city of Ceuta, a Spanish exclave on the north coast of Africa. The temple is dedicated to Santa María de África, the patron saint of the city. In 1421 Henry the Navigator sent to Ceuta an image of Our Lady of Africa that guided to the first temple built to honour her in the current location, but no remains have been found from the medieval age. The church is of Baroque style and the first evidence of its existence dates from 1676. The church undergoed a renovation during the first half of the 18th century resulting in its current appearance.
