Picture of the day on August 3, 2017: Female silver-spotted skipper butterfly ( Hesperia comma). To celebrate 40 years since the publication of A Nature Conservation Review which identified the most important places for nature conservation in Great Britain. It included the Grade I Aston Rowant National Nature Reserve, an important Site of Special Scientific Interest for the silver-spotted skipper.
